First impressions matter.
Especially when your business is all about creating beautiful interiors.
For Ridgeway Interiors, we gave their Aylesbury kitchen showroom a complete exterior signage refresh, bringing together raised lettering, bespoke tray signs, projecting blade signs and a rather smart A-board.
The idea was simple: make the showroom easier to find, give the frontage a consistent identity and create a finish that reflects the quality of the kitchens inside.
Nothing unnecessarily flashy.
Just really good signage, doing exactly what it should.

Making an entrance in Aylesbury.
Located on Cambridge Street in Aylesbury town centre, Ridgeway Interiors specialises in beautifully designed kitchens, offering customers the opportunity to explore modern and traditional kitchen displays and discuss their projects with experienced designers.
And when you're selling beautifully considered interiors, the outside of your showroom needs to look the part too.
The project involved giving the frontage a complete signage refresh, replacing the visual clutter that can sometimes come with commercial premises with a coordinated set of signs that feel like they belong together.
The design uses a classic combination of dark panels and crisp white lettering, creating an appearance that's clean, contemporary and just the right amount of premium.
The sort of first impression that makes you think the kitchens inside are probably worth a look.
A new name above the door.
The main feature of the rebrand is the large fascia sign positioned above the showroom entrance.
Finished in a dark charcoal tone, the sign features prominent raised RIDGEWAY lettering, creating a subtle three-dimensional effect that gives the branding more depth than a standard flat print.
The smaller INTERIORS lettering sits beneath, keeping the overall design balanced and easy to read.
It's a relatively simple combination, but that's precisely why it works.
The raised lettering catches the natural light, adding definition and small shadows that change throughout the day.
Against the surrounding brickwork and curved frontage, the finished sign feels smart and architectural without overpowering the building.
No enormous graphics.
No unnecessary decoration.
Just a well-made shop sign that knows what it's doing.
Catching attention from the pavement.
Of course, a fascia sign is only particularly useful if somebody is looking directly at the front of the building.
Which, when you're walking along a busy street, isn't always the case.
That's where projecting signage comes in.
We produced and installed two bespoke blade projection signs, mounted perpendicular to the building to make Ridgeway Interiors visible to people approaching along the pavement.
Each carries the company's branding alongside the words KITCHEN SHOWROOM, making it immediately clear what customers can expect to find inside.
The slim, rectangular design keeps everything looking contemporary while providing an extra point of visibility from different directions.
It's one of those details that can easily be overlooked when planning a shopfront.
Until you realise how often people approach a business from the side rather than head-on.
Making the details work harder.
Alongside the main fascia and projecting signs, we created a separate tray sign positioned beside the entrance.
Using the same dark background and clean white typography, it reinforces the Ridgeway Interiors identity while introducing the practical information customers are looking for.
KITCHEN SHOWROOM.
Complete Installation Service.
Simple messaging that helps communicate what the business offers without turning the main fascia into a long list of services.
We also supplied a sleek, branded A-board for the pavement outside.
This carries the showroom name, contact information and a QR code, giving passing customers another opportunity to find out more about the business.
The A-board's rounded top adds a slightly softer detail to the overall signage package, while its black-and-white finish keeps everything consistent.
One sign gets you noticed.
Another tells you what the business does.
And another makes it easier to get in touch.
They all have their own job.
A little extra visibility after dark.
Not all signs need to be illuminated to make an impression.
For selected elements of the Ridgeway Interiors signage, we incorporated reflective vinyl to help improve visibility when light hits the graphics in darker conditions.
Reflective vinyl works by returning light towards its source, making it a useful material for certain types of exterior signage.
It's a practical addition that doesn't interfere with the understated design during daylight hours.
The signs retain their crisp, minimal appearance, with the reflective details providing an additional benefit when lighting conditions change.
A nice example of getting a little more from the materials without changing the overall look.
Bringing the whole showroom together.
What makes this project work isn't necessarily any single sign.
It's the way everything fits together.
The raised lettering gives the entrance a premium finish.
The projecting signs help people find the showroom from along the street.
The tray sign provides clear information about the business.
And the A-board creates another opportunity to connect with passing customers.
Each element uses the same visual identity, helping the building feel like one complete branded space.
For a business specialising in kitchen design, that consistency feels particularly appropriate.
After all, getting the little details right is rather important when you're working with interiors.
And we'd like to think the same applies to the exterior.
