Blue skies. Crystal-clear water. A little Greek island sunshine.
Not necessarily the first things that spring to mind when you're standing in a chilly British car park.
But that's exactly the atmosphere we wanted to capture for Oh Greeklicious.
For this project in Windsor, Berkshire, we designed, hand-illustrated, printed and installed a bespoke food truck wrap, transforming a converted Renault Master catering vehicle into a colourful celebration of Greek street food and Mediterranean life.
Bright blue panels, illustrated island scenery, a golden sun and a relaxed seaside setting.
All the holiday vibes.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't included.

Bringing a little Mediterranean flavour to Windsor.
Oh Greeklicious is a Greek street food catering business serving up authentic Mediterranean food for weddings, festivals, corporate events and private celebrations.
With delicious Greek flavours at the heart of the business, the team wanted their catering truck to reflect the same personality and warmth that goes into their food.
And when you're serving food inspired by somewhere as beautiful as Greece, you've got plenty of creative inspiration to work with.
Rather than going for a straightforward logo and some contact information, we developed a fully illustrated design that brings the Greek coastline to life across the vehicle.
The idea was to create something bright, welcoming and instantly recognisable.
Something that feels like summer.
Even when it's parked somewhere considerably less sunny.
A hand-illustrated trip to the Greek islands.
This is where the fun really started.
We created a bespoke illustrated Mediterranean landscape, using vibrant blues, turquoise, warm yellows and carefully chosen accent colours to build a scene that stretches across the sides of the food truck.
The artwork features a golden sun, calm blue sea, distant rocky islands, a small sailing boat and a relaxed figure enjoying the view from a seaside terrace.
There's even a little nod to the Greek island of Paros within the scenery.
The different illustrations work together to create a continuous landscape, rather than a collection of individual graphics placed around the vehicle.
We also introduced decorative railing details along the lower panels and a subtle stone-inspired pattern to give the design extra character.
The whole thing has a clean, modern illustration style, with enough detail to make it interesting without distracting from the main branding.
It's a bit like looking at a holiday postcard.
Only considerably larger.
And with gyros.
Big blue panels. Bigger personality.
One of the most important parts of the design was getting the colour balance right.
The dominant blue background gives the truck a bold visual presence, while the illustrated sea and islands introduce different shades and tones to create depth.
The bright yellow sun provides a strong focal point, while the white lettering sits neatly against the darker blue background.
The Oh Greeklicious logo is positioned prominently alongside the brand's tagline:
EAT. GREEK. STREET.
Three words.
Pretty clear what they're all about.
The handwritten-style typography gives the design a relaxed, personal feel, working particularly well against the clean lines of the illustrations.
And because the artwork wraps around the catering body, the truck has a consistent appearance from multiple viewing angles.
Whether you're approaching from the front, walking alongside it or watching it pull away, the design still feels like one complete piece of branding.
Designing around the important bit. The food hatch.
Of course, a food truck needs to do a little more than look nice.
There's the small matter of actually serving the food.
For Oh Greeklicious, the large serving hatch forms a central part of the catering body, so we needed to make sure the graphics worked just as well with the hatch open as they did when it was closed.
The branding was carefully positioned around the serving area, with the Eat. Greek. Street. lettering incorporated into the hatch section.
This means the main messaging remains part of the customer-facing experience when the vehicle is in use.
The surrounding graphics continue across the bodywork, helping everything feel connected.
We also had to account for the vehicle's access doors, service hatches, wheel arches and exterior fittings when preparing the printed artwork.
Not quite as straightforward as wrapping a giant rectangular box.
Although, from a distance, it does rather look like one.
From illustration to installation.
Once the artwork was finalised, we prepared the designs for large-format printing onto high-quality wrapping vinyl.
The challenge with a detailed illustrated wrap is maintaining consistency across the different panels.
The sea needs to line up.
The decorative details need to flow.
And the main branding needs to remain clear around all the practical features of the truck.
We carefully positioned and applied the printed graphics across the catering body's sides and rear, working around the serving hatch, access panels and existing trim.
Additional printed decals were applied to the front cab, providing useful contact and booking information without covering the original white bodywork.
The result is a continuous illustrated design that makes the most of the truck's large surfaces while allowing all its catering functions to remain accessible.
And there's something particularly satisfying about seeing an illustration that started life as artwork become several metres of full-colour vehicle graphics.
A fairly big canvas.
With a fairly big transformation.
A food truck that's ready for its next adventure.
Food trucks have become a familiar sight at weddings, festivals, markets and corporate events.
And with so many different catering businesses competing for attention, having a recognisable brand can make a real difference.
For Oh Greeklicious, the finished vehicle does a lot of the introducing.
The bright blue design immediately catches the eye, the illustrated scenery communicates the Mediterranean theme and the prominent branding makes it clear who's serving.
Contact information and social media details are also incorporated into the graphics, helping customers find the business after they've finished their food.
Because while someone might forget exactly where they had that particularly good Greek street food, they're considerably more likely to remember the big blue truck covered in Greek island illustrations.
And that's exactly what good vehicle branding is supposed to do.
