The Three Horseshoes required a fresh brand identity that would reflect the personality and charm of the pub while helping it stand out within the local hospitality scene.
The new identity needed to balance traditional pub heritage with a playful and distinctive visual style that could be applied across signage, menus and promotional materials.
-
Toy Creative developed a custom logo and visual identity inspired by traditional pub signage and vintage illustration styles. The design incorporates horse-themed characters and typography that reference the pub’s name while creating a friendly and recognisable brand.
The use of illustrated horse mascots adds personality to the identity, helping the pub feel welcoming and memorable for both locals and visitors.
-
To reinforce the character of the brand, we created a series of illustrated horse characters that bring humour and charm to the visual identity.
These illustrations give the brand a unique personality and provide flexible graphic elements that can be used across menus, signage and marketing materials.
-
The new identity was designed to work across a range of brand touchpoints including menus, printed materials and digital promotion.
The flexible identity system allows the pub to maintain a consistent visual presence while still adapting to different formats and marketing needs.

Once upon a time, The Coach House was doing its thing. Curious, charming, and ever-so-slightly mysterious. But then, a brilliant idea trotted onto the scene. “What if,” someone said (probably over a pint), “we took that magic and spun it into something fresh? Not a copy, but a cousin.” And thus, The Three Horseshoes was born. Your friendly neighbourhood pub with a bit of flair, a dash of mischief, and a full serving of charm.
But this wasn’t going to be just any pub. Oh no. This pub needed personality, warmth, and just a touch of the unexpected. So, instead of your standard logos and stock imagery, the team cooked up something far more memorable; a gang of horse characters. Not your ordinary horses, mind you. These were proper characters, full of quirks, cravats, and just the right amount of cheek. Think stately elegance meets the sort of horse that’d nick your chips if you weren’t looking.
The design played on contrasts. On one side, you’ve got echoes of Victorian grandeur: swirling flourishes, posh-looking typefaces (shout out to Glorious font), and crests worthy of an old noble family. But on the other side? Pure pub cosiness. Warm, earthy colours, playful horse mascots with more personality than your favourite uncle, and an atmosphere that says, “Come on in, it’s nice here.” It’s a blend that shouldn’t work, but somehow it does… like wearing a top hat with slippers.
At the heart of it all is the classic horseshoe motif. It’s in the logo, of course (three of them, because, well, name), but it also brings that extra dash of luck. After all, who wouldn’t want a bit of luck with their pint? Add to that the brand’s playful tone and eye-catching visuals, and you’ve got a pub that doesn’t just look good, it feels good too. Warm, curious, and just a little bit fancy.
So, if you’re after a pub that’s equal parts elegance and elbow-on-the-bar ease, The Three Horseshoes is ready and waiting. Top hats optional. Slippers encouraged.
